Trillium Meds · Brand Refresh · v5 · September 10, 2026
The page repaints itself as you scroll. Each direction owns the whole surface — ground, ink, accent, rules, chrome — so you can see how it would actually feel to be inside it, not judge it from a swatch.
01 · Why these colours
Palette occupancy across 35 surveyed telehealth, longevity, women's health, derm and supplement brands. Filled dots are brands. Rings are the seven directions below.
Counts are indicative — several brands sit in two families. The argument doesn't depend on the exact numbers: the top of the list is where everyone already is, and the bottom is empty.
The competitive audit’s own synthesis, on two axes. Of 27 competitors, 9 publish real prices before signup and exactly one uses photography that looks like real people. Nobody does both. One dot per brand. The audit scored each brand on two yes/no axes, so which cell a dot sits in is the data and where it sits inside that cell is not — the dots are placed by a fixed seed and spaced to be countable. The point is the empty cell.

Real prices and real people
Nobody occupies this. Every direction in this slate is built to land here — which is why three of the seven put a price on the homepage and all seven specify photography that isn’t stock.
1
Real people, gated pricing
Henry Meds, alone. Authentic-feeling imagery, but you have to start an intake to find out what it costs.
9
Real prices, stock imagery
Where Trillium sits today. Pricing is on the homepage; the photography is indistinguishable from every other brand in the category.
17
Neither
The majority. Pricing behind an intake, imagery from the same three stock libraries.
The empty cell is the brief. It also explains a decision that would otherwise look arbitrary: every direction here specifies photography in detail, because the imagery axis is the one where the category has left an entire half of the board open and the cost of entry is a shoot rather than a repositioning.
Refinement · the live system, tightened
The site is already near-black with coral CTAs, and it works. What's missing is proportion: the hero says the company's name where it could say the offer, the trust row is a flat list of six equal items, and coral appears in several places at once. Same colours, same Montserrat, ruthless re-scaling.
Unchanged from Brand Guidelines v1 except the ground, which is corrected to what actually ships. The discipline is the change: coral goes from decoration to the only interactive colour on the page.

Warm evolution · true red, zero occupancy in health
The number is the hero image. Enormous figures on near-white, itemised like a spec sheet, with a single true red that appears once per view. Not one of the 35 brands surveyed uses true red — it's the most confident unoccupied colour in the category, and paired with this much air it reads Swiss-modern rather than alarm.
Red as text needs care: #C22F26 clears AA on this paper at 16px and above, but figures and CTAs are where it belongs. Espresso carries any secondary emphasis so red never has to do two jobs.

Warm evolution · oxblood field, brass rule
Founder-led as accountability, not coziness — and set in the one dark colour that is warm rather than clinical. Oxblood is apothecary glass, wine, old pharmacy cabinetry; nothing in health occupies it. Every claim on the site carries a name and a date, set as a brass-ruled dateline.
The research's warning is real: dark reds are hard in UI. Solved by making oxblood a field with bone type on it, keeping brass for rules and datelines only, and never tinting a form control.

Warm evolution · saffron as the field, 0 of 35 brands
The recommendation as the architecture. Saffron sits in a lane nobody occupies — but only as the field: as an accent on cream it is the same brand as fourteen other companies, because warm cream is the most crowded ground in the category. So the page has two grounds that mean different things. Saffron carries other people’s voices; cream carries Trillium’s own.
Ink on saffron clears AAA at 7.87:1 and ink on cream at 15.19:1. White on saffron is 2.08:1 and fails at any size — the only palette in the slate where the brand colour cannot carry white type, so every button is solid ink with cream type on both grounds.

Cool reframe · one hue, four chroma levels
The account as the architecture. Every claim is a line item with a value and the name of whoever performs it — which turns the three-entity separation from a disclaimer into the most useful section on the page. The colour is unusual for being disciplined rather than loud: ground, rules, ink and accent are all one violet at different saturations, closer to ruled ledger stock than to lavender. Mid purple is occupied by one brand in 35; pale lilac by five, so the single-hue axis is what actually clears the crowd.
No semantic colour anywhere — no green tick, no red flag. The negative column is set in exactly the same ink at the same weight as the positive one, because a ledger that colour-codes is editorialising, and the moment it editorialises it stops being evidence.

Cool reframe · petrol is 0 of 35, sage is 9
Publish the index. Trillium already holds more organised information than it shows — prices by medication and dose, pharmacies, and which states require a phone call before a first prescription — and none of it is public in a form anyone can look something up in. “Available in all 50 states” is true and useless; this direction answers it per state instead. The structure also scales to five categories without a redesign. Petrol is empty in the survey, but pale sage next door is the most crowded lane in health, so every value here runs blue over green.
Amber measures 1.70:1 on the ground — unreadable as text at any size, which settles its role before taste gets involved. It is never a word, a link or a button. It is a locator: the tab on the row you searched for, the underline on the section you are in. One amber mark per view; a second and it stops meaning position.

The index
Some states require a brief phone call with a provider before a first prescription. Most don’t. Trillium doesn’t set this — the state does, and Wasef Health providers handle it.
font-stretch: 75%, the way a reference sets its running heads.Cool reframe · the only ground in the slate that moves
The whole category sells a start. This one sells the continuation: most places quote you a month — this quotes you the year, including the step where the starter plan ends and the price goes up. Desaturated slate is unoccupied, but the move is what happens to it: the ground ramps from near-white to deep slate as you scroll, atmospheric perspective made into a system. Camel marks time and nothing else, on the one band that never changes.
The slate listed this on a warm grey ground — the most occupied ground in the survey at 14 of 35, with camel next door to terracotta and gold at 5 each. Left as specified it was the least differentiated of the seven. Only the ground moves; every text colour is fixed and checked against the far end, which is the worst case. The label colour failed that check at 3.79:1 on the first pass and was darkened until it cleared.

| Direction | The bet | What it does | What it wins | What it costs | Blocked on |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 01 House Style | Refine | Same colours, same Montserrat, ruthless re-scaling. The hero says the offer instead of the company name. |
Ships without a redesign decision. Nothing to re-approve. |
Wins nothing new. The category still can’t tell you apart at a glance. |
Nothing — this is the only direction that ships under “refinement only.” |
| 02 The Price Is the Picture | Conversion | One number, set at headline size, before you sign up. The price is the hero image. |
Sharpest commercial argument. True red is an empty lane. |
Says nothing about legitimacy. A price alone doesn’t tell anyone who’s responsible. |
Decision #4. |
| 03 On the Record | Accountability | Every claim carries a person’s name and the date it was true. |
Structurally hard to copy. Answers the category’s real trust question. |
Three people must agree to be named. Dated claims rot visibly. |
Consent from Trevin, Mike and Casy — individually. |

Turns the compliance requirement into the best section on the page. |
Every published line is a number someone can hold you to. |
Figures reading from the product directory, not copy. |
| 06 Trillium Index | Search | Publish the index. Look up what actually applies in your state. |
Best organic-search position in the slate. Scales to five categories. |
A stale index is a specific wrong answer given to a specific person. |
Verifying the state list; a scope decision on pharmacies. |
| 07 The Long View | Retention | Quotes the year rather than the month — including the step where the starter plan ends. |
Answers the month-four cancellation before anyone signs up. |
Will cost signups by design. Leads with $158 against everyone else’s $133. |
Verifying the year-one arithmetic. |

03 · Standing notes
Seven palettes with real art direction and a controlled homepage comparison — not seven finished systems. No logo work, no component library, no page templates beyond the hero. The point of the spread is to find out which world you want to be in before anyone builds one.
All of it is AI-generated art direction and none of it is shootable. “Real people, not stock” is in the promise, and synthetic people on a live health site would be a sharper version of the problem the category already has — plus AI hero imagery is now itself a legitimacy tell. Treat these as the brief for one photographer, one day, real cast: three crop types per set, eye level or below, never a frame that isolates a body part.
Decision #4 — refinement-only versus open redesign, open since July 30 — gates everything past direction 01. Tiers 2 and 3 exist as input to that decision. Decision #3 (confirm the framework, open since July 2) is still what blocks the redesign itself.
No specimen here uses the frozen recommend-rate figure, the unverified dispute count, the internal 27-competitor comparison, or the service-posture line pending sign-off. Figures shown — 10k+ patients served, Trustpilot 4.6 — are published on the live homepage. Tirzepatide is treated as the flagship throughout; the $133/mo figure is the 3-month starter plan expressed monthly and is not yet published anywhere, so it needs confirming before it reaches a page. Its new-to-GLP-1 restriction is stated wherever the figure appears.
