Trillium’s growth is already a recommendation business. This direction stops treating that as a footnote and makes it the architecture — the review is the headline, and the page is written in other people’s voices.
The device
Same review. Two treatments. The one on the left is what the category does — and what Trillium does today. The one on the right is this direction’s entire proposition.
As the category sets it

Best place I’ve worked with so far. Great customer service. Very responsive.Heather
Below the fold, in a carousel, at the smallest type size on the page, in grey, with the date removed and a name reduced to a first initial’s worth of trust. The strongest asset the company owns, formatted as filler.

Attribution first, then the words — the reverse of direction 03, on purpose. There a claim lands and the dateline signs it; here the person arrives first, because word of mouth is trusted for who said it. Set at headline size, dated, unedited, with the part that matters marked the way a friend forwarding it would mark it.
01 · Why this one
The other six directions argue for a posture Trillium would have to earn. This one argues for a fact it already has: people find Trillium because somebody told them to. A brand built on recommendation isn’t a claim about the company — it is a description of how the company actually grows.
Which makes the design problem specific. If the page is written in customers’ voices, then the typography, the colour and the hierarchy all have one job: make a stranger’s sentence feel like it came from someone you know. That rules out the polished-testimonial look entirely — the centred grey italic with a stock headshot is the single least believable object in health marketing.
The move is to make the review look like a thing, not a design element. Dated. Unedited. Visibly one of many rather than one of five hand-picked. Set in a warm serif at a size that says the company stands behind it, on a ground warm enough that it reads as a note passed along rather than a banner bought.
Every verified review Trillium has praises service and process — speed, pricing clarity, responsiveness. None of them make a weight-loss outcome claim. That is the only reason a review-led homepage is available here: an outcome testimonial would need substantiation and typicality context and would be a real regulatory problem, while “the pricing was great” is a service statement about the platform. The rule this direction lives under: a review may carry a claim about the ordering experience and never about a clinical result.
02 · Palette
The slate originally listed this direction on a warm cream ground. That was wrong, and the survey says why: warm cream is the most crowded lane in the category — 14 of 35 brands. Saffron used as an accent on cream is the same brand as fourteen other companies. Saffron used as the field is a lane nobody occupies.
So the page has two grounds and they mean different things. Saffron carries other people’s voices — the hero, the reviews, the closing line. Cream carries Trillium’s own — pricing, process, the legal copy. The reader learns the rule without being told it, and the palette stops being decoration and starts being a speaker label.
#E9A81BSaffron. The field for every quoted voice. Large, calm areas — never a thin accent, never a tint on a form control.#FDF6E3Cream. Trillium’s own reading surface. Long copy, pricing, tables, anything that has to be read rather than heard.#2B1D07Espresso ink. All type on saffron, and every button on the page. The contrast table below is why.#9A3B12Rust. Attribution, links and rules on cream only. Never a fill, never on saffron.#F2B31CMarker saffron. The highlighter stroke on cream. Exists for one purpose and has no other use.#6B4A18Brown. Secondary text on cream at 7.4:1. Replaces the grey every competitor uses.White on saffron is 2.08:1 — it fails at any size, for any purpose. This is the only palette of the seven where the brand colour cannot carry white type, which means the reflex of a light button on a coloured field is unavailable. Every button on this direction is solid espresso ink with cream type, on both grounds. One button, everywhere, derived from contrast rather than taste — and it happens to be the most confident-looking button in the set.
03 · Typography
Fraunces is a variable serif with two axes almost nothing else has: SOFT rounds the terminals, WONK swaps in eccentric alternates for a handful of letters. Turned up, it reads hand-cut rather than art-directed — which is the difference between a quote that feels said and a quote that feels bought.
SOFT 0 · WONK 0 — the axes at rest. Competent, and close to indistinguishable from the high-contrast display serif every wellness brand has used since 2020. This is the setting to avoid.
SOFT 100 · WONK 1 — terminals rounded and the wonky alternates on. Watch the y: its curled tail is replaced by a straight sheared one, and the g’s ear changes with it. Same width, different voice — the axes are metrically stable, so this is a free swap at any size. Display only.
Every other direction in the slate uses a monospace for datelines, labels and small chrome. This one has none. Monospace reads as machine output — a log entry, a receipt, a system message — and the entire premise here is that a person said this. All chrome is Hanken Grotesk in tracked caps instead. It is a small decision that does a large amount of work, and it is the fastest way to tell this direction apart from 02 and 03 in a thumbnail.
04 · Photography
The register is the moment of the recommendation itself — someone showing someone else something. Not patients, not before-and-afters, not a clinic. Pairs and small groups in real rooms, at the exact moment a thing gets passed along.
The handoffThe whole thesis in one frame: one person turning her phone toward another. Two different expressions — one explaining, one considering. Neither is performing for the camera.
Three expressions, one laughThe only genuine laugh in the set, and it sits inside a group where the other two are listening and half-smiling. That ratio is the whole correction from the earlier rounds.
Composed, not cheerfulDirect gaze, no smile, entirely self-possessed. A recommendation carries more weight from someone who looks like they don’t hand them out. Her own kitchen, legible to the far wall.
No face requiredHands, a phone, a thread deliberately unreadable, and a table with real mail on it. The set needs frames with no person in them so the people carry more when they appear.
Mid-sentenceTwo men and a dog on an ordinary street, one talking and one thinking about it. Nobody is looking at the camera and nothing is staged. This is what a conversation about a medication actually looks like.
Read it out loudFour people, four expressions, two lamps on and both windows working. Sits in the mock’s hero band, where the softest frame in the set can carry type on top of it.
This direction shows people who are supposed to be real customers recommending a real product. Synthetic faces cannot ship here at all — not as placeholder, not “just for launch”. Where 03 needed a small shoot of the actual team, 04 needs consented photography of actual customers, or it needs to run entirely on the no-face frames plus type. That second option is genuinely viable and worth costing out, because the alternative is a brand whose whole premise is other people’s trust, illustrated with people who do not exist.
05 · The website
The same sequence as the live site, with one change of position rather than a new section: “What people actually said” moves from the bottom to the middle, ahead of pricing, because on this direction it is the argument and not the reassurance. The nav condenses and darkens on scroll, every marked phrase strokes in as it arrives, and the review slips sit hand-stacked and straighten as you reach them.

A review-led homepage is a regulated construction, not just a layout. Three things need confirming with whoever signs off on marketing claims: that the reviews can be reproduced verbatim with names and dates as shown, that presenting five of them alongside the 4.6 aggregate satisfies the typicality expectation, and that the disclosure wording in the mock’s legal block is sufficient. This is the only direction of the four where the layout itself creates a compliance obligation.
Directions 03 and 04 answer the same question — whose word makes this trustworthy — with opposite answers. 03 says the team’s, on the record. 04 says the customers’. Both are strong and they are mutually exclusive in practice, because a page that does both is a page with no clear voice. Worth deciding which of the two before building 05, 06 or 07, since the answer probably eliminates one of them.
Nothing here uses the recommend-rate number, the dispute count, the 27-competitor comparison, or the “you don’t have to fight us” line. The $133/month figure is the Tirzepatide 3-month starter plan expressed monthly — the same construction the live site uses for Semaglutide’s $86 — and it is not published anywhere yet, so it needs confirming before it reaches a real page.
