Direction 01 of 7 · Trillium Visual Directions

House Style.

The refinement-only answer, taken as seriously as the departures. Same palette, same typeface, same honeycomb. What changes is proportion, and what the hero is for.

Palette unchanged — charcoal, coral, warm grey Type Montserrat, re-scaled Effort lowest of the seven

The device

The hero currently introduces the company. It could make the offer.

Nothing below changes a colour or a typeface. The whole direction is one substitution, shown at the size it would actually appear: the company’s name and thirty-four words of description, replaced by the offer and twenty.

The hero today

Trillium Meds

A subscription-based telehealth access service connecting adults to licensed healthcare providers and regulated pharmacies for GLP-1–based weight management in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.

The largest words on the page are the company’s own name, and the sentence beneath them is 34 words of category description. Nothing above the fold says what it costs or why to trust it.

01 · Why this one

The problem isn’t the design. It’s the proportion.

The live site is already doing the hard part: near-black ground, one warm accent, a real texture, no gradients, no stock gloss. It is closer to the guidelines than most of the category gets. What it isn’t doing is spending its hierarchy on the thing that wins the argument.

Above the fold today, coral appears in the nav button, the hero CTA, the divider rule and the step numbers — four separate coral moments competing for the same attention. The Brand Guidelines are explicit that coral “earns attention: one or two elements per composition.” This direction just enforces the rule the brand already wrote for itself, then gives the reclaimed hierarchy to the price and the process.

A correction worth carrying back

Brand Guidelines v1.0 describes the visual system on a light ground — White as “the canvas,” Warm Gray #F5F4F2, charcoal as text. The live site is near-black. Neither is wrong, but the document and the product disagree, and every downstream contractor brief inherits whichever one they happen to read first. Whichever direction wins, the guidelines need this reconciled.

02 · Palette

Nothing added. One rule enforced.

Every value here is already in Brand Guidelines v1.0. The only change is the ground, corrected to what actually ships, and a hard ceiling on how much coral a single view is allowed.

#0C0C0DGround. The corrected value — a warm near-black, not a cold one.
#16161ASurface. Cards, the announcement bar, the portal band.
#26262BLine. Every rule and divider. Never used as a fill.
#8E8B85Warm grey. Labels, metadata, secondary copy.
#F4F2EDInk. Warm off-white, never pure #FFF — it glares on this ground.
#F37658Coral, unchanged. Once per view. Fills only, never as body text.

Target distribution across a full page. Coral above about 5% of the visible surface is the failure mode — it stops reading as “the action” and starts reading as decoration.

1The primary CTA. Everything else that was coral becomes ink or line.
Sage is not in this direction

The guidelines give sage a role as a background wash, and on a near-black ground it has nowhere to go — it either muddies or turns minty. It stays in the system for light surfaces (email, print, the portal) and off the marketing site. Worth noting that sage sits in the single most crowded colour family in the category, so its absence here costs nothing competitively.

The rule the math already enforces

White on coral is 2.78:1 and fails at every size, which is why the CTA is near-black on coral at 6.79:1 rather than the white-on-coral button the category reaches for by reflex. Coral clears AAA as text on the ground at 7.02:1, so the constraint was never the colour — it was the direction of the pairing. --faint is deliberately below the text threshold: it is only ever the dash before a list item, where the 3:1 non-text bar applies and it clears it.

03 · Typography

Same Montserrat, different scale

Montserrat stays, and that is the point of a refinement direction. The guidelines set body copy at 13–15px, which is a 2019 default and reads cramped on a dark ground where type needs more air to hold its edges. Body moves to 17px, the display sizes open up, and the H2 treatment changes.

The one typographic change I’d argue for

The guidelines specify H2 — Bold Italic 700, coral accent. Bold italic in a coral tint is the most dated element in the current system, it doubles as a second coral moment, and italic Montserrat is a mechanical slant rather than a drawn italic. Replacing it with Montserrat 600 in ink costs nothing and removes a coral competitor. A mono label picks up the emphasis job instead — and a mono companion is the cheapest legitimacy signal available in this category.

04 · Photography

A dark brand needs a warm room

This is the constraint the direction lives or dies on. A near-black site with cool or flat imagery reads clinical and slightly grim — which is exactly the trap the category’s worst photography falls into. But the opposite failure is just as real: one dramatic lamp and a heavy vignette reads cinematic, not domestic. So every frame here is lit the way a home actually is — two or three practical lamps, the whole room legible to the far wall, warm and even, no spotlight and no vignette.

Expressions run the ordinary human range: concentrating, listening, mid-sentence, quietly amused. Interiors in the evening, doing something small, in rooms with books and mail and plants in them. Nobody performing, and nothing staged as a set.

Anchor frame

A real lived-in room, legible corner to corner, lit by the lamps that are actually in it. Two people, two different expressions — one listening, one mid-sentence. Every other frame in the set is graded to match this one.

The coral does the work

A single coral object in an otherwise warm neutral room ties the photography to the palette without any grade trickery. Cheapest available consistency lever, and it survives any crop.

Concentrating, not glowing

Screen-lit scenes are unavoidable for a portal-based product. Let the room light the face and the screen be incidental — never the other way round — and never show legible screen content.

Privacy as a mood

Two rooms in one frame, both lit, the subject between them and small in it. Reads private rather than lonely precisely because you can see the whole house around her.

Fulfilment, understated

Plain unbranded parcel on the hall table, keys and a bowl beside it, a lamp already on. The category’s gray-market tell is a vial or a syringe as hero; the legitimate version photographs the box where it actually landed.

Lean into

  • Two or three practical lamps in frame — the room lit the way it really is.
  • The whole room legible to the far wall. Books, mail, plants, a rug, a clock.
  • Interiors in the evening. Kitchens, sofas, hallways, entry tables.
  • A single coral object per frame — a mug, a notebook, a jacket.
  • Ordinary expressions: concentrating, listening, quietly amused, tired.
  • Pairs in conversation, and still lifes of real objects.
  • Warm lifted shadows, fine grain, halation on the light source.

Avoid

  • Cool or blue-shadowed night scenes — the fastest route to grim.
  • Single-spotlight compositions and heavy vignettes. That reads film still, not home.
  • Crushed blacks that swallow the room. If you can’t see the far wall, relight it.
  • Anyone alone and unlit looking out a window. Discretion, not sadness.
  • Before/after in any form, scales, tape measures, mirrors.
  • Any crop isolating an abdomen, thigh, upper arm or chin.
  • Vials, syringes, pen injectors, white coats, exam rooms.
  • Rim-lit silhouettes, lens flare as an effect, screen-blue faces.
  • Skin smoothing, teeth whitening, any body reshaping.
Production note

AI-generated art direction, not shootable assets. Warm evening interiors are the cheapest set of the seven to shoot for real — existing lamps, real apartments, one photographer, no studio, no grip package — which is part of the argument for this direction if budget is the constraint. The brief to the photographer is one line: light the room, not the subject.

Homepage, in your block order

Same sequence as the live site — announcement bar, sticky nav, hero, trust row, How It Works, Treatments, Patient Portal, reviews, final CTA. The honeycomb is kept and pushed back to where a texture belongs. The nav condenses on scroll and the review strip pauses on hover.

TRILLIUM MEDS IS AN ADMINISTRATIVE AND ORDERING PLATFORM. IT IS NOT A MEDICAL PROVIDER AND NOT A PHARMACY.
Clinical and eligibility decisions are made independently by Wasef Health providers. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. Tirzepatide plans as low as $133/mo apply to the 3-month starter plan for patients new to GLP-1 medications; the $133 figure is derived from the published $399 plan and needs confirming before publication. Some HSA/FSA cards are accepted — try at checkout. Some states require a brief phone call before a first prescription. Pricing shown as published 09.2026.

06 · Consequences

What choosing this commits you to

AreaConsequence
ScopeAnswers Decision #4 as refinement-only. The logo gets an audit at small sizes rather than a redesign, and no existing collateral is obsoleted.
GuidelinesBrand Guidelines v1.0 needs its ground colour corrected and the H2 bold-italic-coral treatment retired. That's an edit, not a rewrite.
Coral disciplineThe one-per-view rule has to be enforced in the component library, not left to judgement — otherwise it drifts straight back to four.
PhotographyStill a real shoot, but the cheapest of the seven: practical lamps, real apartments, no studio, no seamless.
Category scaleCarries all five categories without modification, since nothing is keyed to a category. Weakest at differentiating them.
AccessibilityWarm off-white on #0C0C0D clears AAA for body copy. Coral on near-black is fill-only — coral as text on this ground fails AA and must never be used that way.
CompetitiveThe honest weakness. Nothing here is hard for a funded competitor to copy in a quarter, because the moat is discipline rather than ownership.
Decision needed

This is the option that exists so the comparison is fair. If Decision #4 lands on refinement-only, this ships in weeks and nothing else on this list matters. If it lands on open redesign, this direction becomes the control the others are measured against — which is still a job worth having on the table.

Where it genuinely wins

Two places. It is the only direction with zero brand risk — no equity thrown away, no contractor re-brief, no packaging reprint. And on a dark ground with warm interior photography, it is quietly well suited to the Discreet Professional, who is 20% of the base and the persona most put off by anything that reads like marketing.
